Over 30 years ago as a little girl, I decided that I always wanted to tell stories. Big
stories, little stories and the important stories to people. Storytelling in all its forms
has been at the heart of my journey.
Throughout my career I have been advocating and looking out for the stories of
those in need, the vulnerable, the people who have a small voice.
I am a resolute supporter of leadership and an experienced professional in
developing advocacy, strategy and executing leadership development.
I am a growth-focused professional with experience in communications, PR,
leadership development, advocacy, organisational management, advocacy, and
marketing.
I got my first job as a journalist when I was an unpaid intern at The Limerick Post in
1995, and that led me to becoming an apprentice reporter with my collegiec papers
An Focal ( UL ) Garnet and Black ( USC) The Gamecock ( USC) and Coolchaint (
NUIG).
I then got an apprentice reporters position with the Evening Echo Newspaper in
Limerick, where for 3 years I was a soft news, columnist and reporter.
In 2004 I graduated from University of Limerick with a degree in History, Politics and
Social Sciences.
I then went to work for a media house based in Brussels, creating content for The
World Bank, and other NGO’s. I spent 9 months in Tanzania working with a team and
was producer for Times Tv New York.
After that I went on to work as a business journalist at Seven Days , a daily English
language newspaper in Dubai, UAE. I covered a beat of business, technology and
stock market work. I also worked at this time for Real Estate Tv in a presenting role
and also for GMR, Gulf Marketing Review, which was a family run wonderful
publishing house.
I was in Dubai for over 2 years before leaving Dubai to work for Nokia at their North
West Africa Hub in Casablanca, Morocco. I was working with Nokia in a
communications, marketing role. Supporting the communications manager for NWA,
MEA.
In 2007 I returned to Dublin to work for the online side of Paddy Power.com and
worked on their business, spreadbetting and corporate PR for 5 years. There I
managed to create a social media department and organically grow their first 1
million followers on Facebook.
I also was a main architect of the social media customer service team there.
In 2013 I left Dublin to move back to the Mid West. I set up my own company and
worked in freelance PR and Marketing for several national clients while studying for
my Masters in DCU in Business Management.
In 2014 I went to work with Mid West Spina Bifida, as I had a great interest in
working in the non- profit sector. In 2016 I moved into an European Marketing
Manager role with international Med Tech brand Cook Medical. Here I honed my
international sales and marketing experience with a sales team in 7 countries. I also
worked on Asia and developing distribution channels and marketing there.
In 2019 I set up my own company Adore It which is a freelance company doing
marketing, event management, PR and MC work. When Covid hit I was working with
clients all over the country on marketing plans and websites.
I completed a Post Grad in Digital Marketing in 2020.
As a lot of client work was cancelled in 2020, I started work instead as an Associate
Director of Marcomms at Novartis. The role was quite an interesting one being an
internal communicator primarily and external marketing was not in my remit but was
something I was continually aware of. In this role I again worked in editing, content
creation, campaign creation, tv production, Video editing and hosting large townhalls
and events of up to 2000 people.
After 3 years I left this role in 2023 and started on the current adventure. I am writing
and telling stories again. I want to be the next Agatha Christie but in Limerick,
obviously!
Working with diverse and different clients, in research, advocacy, project
management, writing, storytelling and so much more.
Every month it is getting more and more exciting. Let me know how we can work
together…

During my primary degree in University of Limerick, I was an active member of the
Students Union, now UL Student Life, I helped to lead and manage a number of
societies and was on the committee of several clubs as well as editor of An Focal in
2000-2003. I have a deep understanding of student democracy and of leadership
development within the third level sector. I was a member of Clubs and Societies
Council on several occasions and a class representative in 2001.
Since 2019 I have been a volunteer, working with UL Student Life helping to
establish the Old Wolves Network, a group of alumni and former members working
to give back to Clubs and Socs.
I am an expert at developing, managing, and executing high-impact leadership /
internal comms campaigns based on success stories to drive stakeholder /
employee/ public awareness and product demand.
My passion for student democracy and about developing leadership strength within
the student leaders of today was fuelled and developed in University of Limerick. I
have a degree in Politics and sociology from UL and over 5 years of experience as a
journalist, politics at all levels is still an avid interest of mine.
UL Student Life and the Old Wolves Network is a leader in student representation
and is at the cutting edge of student advocacy.
In 2023/24, I am completing a post graduate certificate in UL in Sustainability of
Work. Sustainability is a personal passion of mine and this course is a way of
learning about current trends and ways of integrating UN Sustainable Development
Goals into our organisations and building institutions and workplaces that integrate
sustainable practices into the future.
I work with clients in this area such as Skillnet Climate Ready Academy and also
20fiftypartners. It is a great way to integrate sustainability into my consultancy.
