Welcome!

Hi there, and welcome to my page! After many years working in media, communications, and events, I’ve finally created a space to share my journey.

Early Journalism Career

My journey in journalism began in 1995 as an unpaid intern at The Limerick Post, which led to an apprentice reporting role with student publications including:

• An Focal (University of Limerick)

• Garnet and Black & The Gamecock (University of South Carolina)

• Coolchaint (National University of Ireland Galway)

From there, I became an apprentice reporter with The Evening Echo in Limerick, where I worked for three years covering soft news, columns, and general reporting.

Expanding My Horizons

After graduating from the University of Limerick in 2004 with a degree in History, Politics, and Social Sciences, I worked for a Brussels-based media house, creating content for The World Bank and various NGOs. My work also took me to Tanzania, where I was a producer for Times TV New York.

I then moved to Dubai to work as a business journalist at Seven Days, covering business, technology, and stock markets. During this time, I also worked with Real Estate TV as a presenter and contributed to Gulf Marketing Review (GMR).

From Dubai, I transitioned into corporate communications, working with Nokia’s North West Africa Hub in Casablanca, Morocco, where I supported communications and marketing across the MEA region.

Corporate Communications & Social Media Leadership

In 2007, I returned to Dublin to work in corporate PR and spread betting for PaddyPower.com. I played a key role in:

• Establishing the company’s first social media department

• Organically growing their first 1 million followers on Facebook

• Designing and managing the social media customer service team

By 2013, I had moved back to the Mid-West, starting my own PR and Marketing consultancy while completing a Master’s in Business Management at DCU.

Non-Profit & MedTech Experience

In 2014, I transitioned to the non-profit sector, working with Mid-West Spina Bifida before taking on a European Marketing Manager role with Cook Medical in 2016. There, I developed international sales and marketing strategies across seven countries, including expansion into Asian markets.

Entrepreneurship & Recent Roles

In 2019, I founded Adore It, a freelance company specializing in marketing, event management, PR, and MC work. When the pandemic hit in 2020, I adapted by focusing on marketing strategies and website development for clients nationwide, while also completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing.

That same year, I joined Novartis as an Associate Director of Marcomms, where I focused on internal communications, content creation, campaign development, video editing, and large-scale corporate events for up to 2,000 people.

After three years, I left Novartis in 2023 to return to my first love—writing and storytelling. My goal? To become the next Agatha Christie… but based in Limerick, of course!

Today, I work on a diverse range of projects, from research and advocacy to project management and storytelling. Every month brings exciting new opportunities, and I’d love to explore how we can work together!

Sustainability & Future Goals

In 2023/24, I am completing a Postgraduate Certificate in the Sustainability of Work at the University of Limerick. Sustainability is a passion of mine, and I am focused on integrating UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into organizations and businesses.

I work with clients such as Skillnet Climate Ready Academy and 20Fifty Partners, helping them embed sustainability into their operations and strategies.
